However, you are calling me to wake up. Stir my spirit to develop Christ consciousness so I will be mindful of your indwelling presence. Keep me focused on Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of my faith! (Rom. 13:11)

2. Sure foundation –Heavenly Father, this old world is crumbling all around me. What hope is there? I know you are not bothered by all this. You are my sure foundation. Therefore, cause me to place my faith totally in you so I might remain steadfast and immovable. (Ps. 11:3-4, 7)

3. He is able –Dear Lord Jesus, your Word tells me what you have done for me, and your Spirit shows me what you want to accomplish through me. You are the almighty God, well able to meet all my needs. You want to bless me, but I must believe you. Perform your purposes through me. (Luke 1:45-48)

4. Source of life –Lord Jesus, you are the source of life. There is no true life apart from you. We must receive you so we can have life – your life. I have life because I have received you. I give up trying to live my life on my own. I trust you to live through me! Christ is now my life! (1 John 5:11-12)

5. Knowing God –Dear God, I once thought I knew it all. Now I see that was pride. You alone are all-knowing. Cause me to know you and not just know about you. Please make yourself known to me. Enable me to know you by the Spirit so I can know your ways and walk in your paths! (John 17:3)

6. Godly in sight – “Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established” (Prov. 16:3). Don’t follow the urge to do it your way! To serve and lead God’s way, you need godly insight and direction. Be a man of the Word. Make time to study Scripture; pray to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading.

7. Healing touch –“I am the Lord who heals you” (Exod. 15:26). God is almighty and offers his grace to all who seek him. He gives eternal life in Jesus Christ to everyone who believes. He is able to heal our bodies through human science or by his miraculous intervention. Pray with hope. Trust him, too, for his healing touch.

8. Provision –“But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever” (1 Tim. 5:8). Thank the Lord if you are able to provide for yourself and family, and don’t despair if a crisis hits. Pray with faith, for the Lord can enable you and provide for all your needs.

9. He cares –“… casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Pet. 5:7). Life is stressful, and how much more is that the case in times of a pandemic with no immediate solution in sight? Pray for patience and trust in the Lord and his promises. You don’t have to carry the burden alone. Thank him that he is your burden carrier.

10. Spiritual children –“Here am I and the children whom the Lord has given me” (Is. 8:18). Any Christian father would want to echo these words. But our biological offsprings make their own decisions and do not always follow the Lord. Pray that through your life, many will become your spiritual children by believing in Christ.

11. Suitable equipment – Catching different kinds of fish requires different kinds of equipment. This is also the case with human beings. A one-size-fits-all approach is not appropriate, or at least not fruitful, in Christian mission. Pray that God will help you to always choose the best approach when you invite others into his kingdom. (Matt. 10:16)

12. Endurance – Have you ever thought that God might become bored when you remind him again and again about the same topic? Think twice! Jesus himself told us to do this (Luke 18:1-8). In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed several times to his Father in heaven (Matt. 26:44). Thank God for his patience.

13. Shared responsibility – Your duty as a follower of Christ is to stay close to him, to get to know him better day by day and to pass on the good news to other people. But you are not responsible for the salvation of others. Only the Holy Spirit of God can convince people about spiritual truths (John 16:8-11). Thank God, and then relax!

14. Overcoming the flesh – Overcoming our flesh is difficult. As a matter of fact, without God’s help, it is simply impossible to succeed in this. Pray that God will grant you a spirit that is eager to do his will; he will help you to overcome the weakness of the flesh, allowing you to grow in holiness as time goes by. (Gal. 5:16-18)

15. The light is stronger – Are you afraid of interacting with people who are living ungodly lives? You shouldn’t be. Jesus gave his life for them as well as for you. Thank God that the light dwelling in you is stronger than the darkness hindering sinners from seeing the light (Mark 2:17). Be a witness!

16. Good citizen –There should be no better citizen than a Christian. Pray for yourself to assume your role as salt of the earth and light of the world and to be a positive and responsible influencer of society. May it be said also of you: “Look, in this town there is a man of God” (1 Sam. 9:6).

17. Authorities – “For the authorities are God’s servants. … Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor” (Rom. 13:6-7). Pray that those in government will be led by no fear other than the fear the Lord. As for you, be a good citizen.

18. Suffering –“Is anyone of you suffering? He should pray” (Jas. 5:13). Doubtlessly, life is unpredictable and full of challenges. But Jesus has promised to be with us every day. Therefore, don’t get discouraged; rather, consider your suffering to be an opportunity to experience God’s presence. Pray in faith with thanksgiving and in trust.

19. Work –Being able to work, having a trade and earning what is needed to support one’s family, is a blessing from God. The apostle Paul encourages us to work, to do something useful and to share with those in need (Eph. 4:28). Lord, thank you for giving me able hands and an able mind. Please provide for those who need jobs.

20. Reminder –“The Holy Spirit … will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you” (John 14:26). Lord, we pray for those of our children who are not walking with you. We cry out to you, asking that the Holy Spirit will remind them of your Word and your love and bring them back to you.

21. Neighbors – “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35). As Christian men, we have the privilege of influencing those around us. Lord, I pray that the way I relate to my family and to those with whom I come into contact will be a strong witness to others, revealing your life and love through me.

22. Worship –During the pandemic, public church gatherings have been restricted. The lack of fellowship can impact the personal walk with the Lord and the faith of some. As husbands and fathers, use the opportunity to lead your family in worship in your homes while you await with joy to again go to the house of the Lord. (Ps. 122:1)

23. Honoring –“Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure” (Heb. 13:4). Pornography is destroying the integrity of millions of marriages. The Lord called us to be pure and holy in our intimate relationships. Pray to be strong in your commitment to resist these temptations and to love your wife with a pure heart.

24. Disaster – “When the ram’s horn blows a warning, shouldn’t the people be alarmed? Does disaster come to a city unless the Lord has planned it?” (Amos 3:6). God is holy and cannot tolerate evil. He uses suffering as a means of grace to call us to himself. Pray for faith and endurance; cling to him! He always plans the best for you.

25. Forgiveness –“If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him” (Luke 17:3). We all are prone to fail and thereby incur guilt. Among brothers in Christ, we are called to be zealous for the quality of our relationships. Pray for wisdom and courage to always tell the truth in love and be ready to forgive and to be forgiven.

26. Brothers in need –“Dear brothers, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth” (1 John 3:18). Plans fail, people get sick, disaster strikes, and suddenly all resources are gone and a person can’t make ends meet. Pray to be sensitive to the needs of the people around you. To the merciful will be shown mercy.

27. Be a minister –“Prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up” (Eph. 4:12). TWR’s men’s ministry offers an amazing tool for discipleship called Every Man A Warrior. Study groups have started in over 30 countries. Pray for men to prepare themselves to be servant leaders in the church.

28. Prayer warrior –“I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing” (1 Tim. 2:8). Man, don’t forget that prayer is where the work begins! Allow for the Lord to purify your motives and to cleanse you from unrighteousness, and then pray with faith and great expectancy. God wants to intervene and bless your family.

1. Consciousness – Oh Lord, I have been spiritually asleep through much of my life.
