Resurrection life – Dear Lord Jesus, I am so grateful that You went to the cross for me and died as me. Now that I have received You, Your resurrection life indwells me. Cause me to know what I need to know. Thank You for enabling me to live a new life by the same power that raised You from the dead. (Hosea 6:2-3)

2. Energy of the flesh – Heavenly Father, I realize that I have been deceived. My flesh with all of its natural talent, strength and ability can never please You. I have been working hard in the energy of my flesh, but all I have accomplished are fleshly results—dead works. Therefore, I trust You Holy Spirit to fill me and live Your life through me. (Galatians 6:7-8)

3. Vital union – Oh Lord, thank you, that when I received Christ, the Holy Spirit baptized me into Christ. Your Spirit placed me into a vital union with Christ. I was baptized into Christ’s death when Christ became one with me on the cross. I have been crucified with Christ. Thank You, for putting an end to my old life and giving me a new life in Christ! (Romans 6:3)

4. Belonging – Lord Jesus, since I have given myself to You, I now belong to You. Furthermore, I am dead to my old life in the flesh. I am now in the Spirit. I ask You to take complete control and fill me with the Spirit. Holy Spirit, I trust You to guard me and guide me in the path of righteousness. (Galatians 5:24-25)

5. Free indeed – Dear God, I realize that I was a slave of the devil in Adam. But You made me free in Christ. So now I am truly free. I am free to be all you made me to be as a beautiful new creation in Christ. You have imparted Your life to me. Since You live in me, I trust You to cause me to live free, free indeed! (John 8:36)

6. Choices – Decision making is part of our daily life. To be responsible in our leadership as husband and fathers, we need to choose according to Scripture and resist the inclination of the flesh. – Lord, help me not to act in the impulsiveness of the flesh, rather to submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit. (Galatians 6:8)

7. Preferences – Many times we demonstrate selfishness and jealousy in the confines of the family life. The Bible calls this “works of the flesh” (Galatians 5:20). – My prayer, o Lord, is that that you help me to submit my desires and preferences to the needs of the members of my family, making our home one of harmony and peace.

8. Pattern – Scripture warns us not to conform to the pattern of this world (Romans 12:2. We are tempted to soften biblical principles by accepting worldly behavior and philosophies, in order to avoid being ostracized. Pray for courage to confront these pitfalls, which threaten the stability of your family.

9. Forgiveness – The Bible considers unconfessed sin like a wall, that separates (Isaiah 59:2). Walls are erected in family relations, between spouse, children and parents, when faults and conflicts remain unresolved. Let’s pray for healing and restoration of relationships in the family according to James 5:16.

10. Fishers of men – A girl once asked: “If the purpose of our life isn’t to bring people closer to Jesus – what is the purpose?” Pray that God will make you a devoted and successful fisher of men and use you to bring other people into His presence (Matt 4:19).

11. An ambassador – We should not consider it a burden to serve the Lord, but rather an amazing gift. God does not actually need you, but he gives you the privilege of serving Him (Luke 19:40). Give thanks today that our almighty Lord is willing to use you as his ambassador to a world in despair.

12. Opportunities – God will give you opportunities to speak to other people about Him, sometimes when you least expect it. Pray that he will also give you courage to make the most out of those opportunities whenever they appear (1 Peter 3:15).

13. One body – Fellowship with other believers is important. As members of the global Church we experience a unique unity. You get input and encouragement from other believers, and vice versa. Thank God today for allowing you to be a part of the Lord’s body (1 Corinthians 12:12-14).

14. The light in your heart – As a follower of Christ, Jesus is now living His life through you. Pray that you will become more and more like your master, and that His light that shines from within your heart will attract other people and bring them into His presence (2 Corinthians 4:6).

15. Harmony – As beings, created in the image of a Triune God, we are triune creations consisting of spirit, soul, and body (1 Thess. 5:23). Pray that men will be intentional to finding harmony on all three levels of existence, for the glory of God.

16. Spiritual strength – As spiritual beings, we connect with God in our spirits (John 4:24). Pray that men will spend quality time in prayer and worship on a daily basis in order to maintain a close walk with the Lord, resulting in spiritual strength to face life’s battles.

17. Tranquility – Our soul is the seat of the emotions. Pray for men to walk in peace with God and others, so that their soul is healthy and nourished with God’s tranquil presence that will filter out to family and friends. (1 Thessalonians. 5:23)

18. Temple of God – The body of a Christian is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19). Pray that we as men will seek purity in all that we do (2 Cor. 7:1), walking in the Spirit and controlled by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18)

19. Balance – Being temples of the Holy Spirit means that even our diet and exercise should be incorporated into our worship and finding balance in spirit, soul, and body (1 Cor. 10:31). Pray that men will take more interest in eating a more nutrient based diet and getting adequate daily exercise, for the glory of God.

20. Trust God – Many men are honest in their search for solution for the social, political, economic and physical maladies in our world today. Be willing to trust God. Pray for discernment. Believe the Bible when it says: “He who fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for his children it will be a refuge” (Proverbs 14:26).

21. Helpmate – “The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice” (Proverbs 12:15). Impulsive and unqualified decisions lead seldom to good outcomes. We men are often to proud, to listen to our wife’s advice. Don’t forget that God gave her to you as your helpmate.

22. Be kind – “A kind man benefits himself, but a cruel man, brings trouble on himself” (Proverbs 11:17). Pray for the Lord to change your temper and to make you into a man who demonstrates the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.

23. Be generous – “A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed” (Proverbs 11:25). Resist the urge to amass and to make of material possessions your security. Pray to be sensitive to the need of others and allow God to make you a blessing to those you come in contact with.

24. Be teachable – “Rebuke a wise man and he will love you” (Proverbs 9:8). Even if you are well intended, don’t assume that you are always right. Pray for a teachable spirit and be humble when others correct you in a just cause.

25. True wisdom – “Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still” (Proverbs 9:9a). Experience, knowledge and good judgement lead to wisdom. Pray for discernment and make the study of Scripture a daily habit; for true wisdom starts with the fear of the Lord.

26. A righteous man – “Teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning” (Proverbs 9:9b). When we believe in the Lord Jesus as our savior, God dresses us with a rope of righteousness. Pray, for the Spirit of God to make you into a man who reflects in his behavior those inner qualities.

27. A prudent man – “A prudent man keeps his knowledge to himself, but the heart of fools blurts out folly” (Proverbs 12:23). If speaking is silver, then listening is gold, says a proverb. Resist the rubbish of so much of today’s communication. Pray to be discerning, spend quality time in the presence of God.

28. A good man – “A good man leaves an inheritance for his children” (Proverbs 13:22) A good man has strength of character and is not afraid to stand up for what he believes. Pray to be a father who emulates these traces of manliness and who inspires his children with his genuine love for God and family.

29. Dissension – “A hot tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel” (Proverbs 15:18). Pray to control your emotions and resist the urge to get angry when you are provoked. The Bible warns that a man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires (James 1:20).

30. Greed – “A greedy man brings trouble to his family, but he who hates bribes will live” (Proverbs 15:27). Greed is moral corruption when it is pure self-interest and the pursued of wealth at any cost. Pray to be honest and conscious of the rights and needs of others in your business practices.

31. Motives – “All a man’s ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord” (Proverbs 16:2). To know oneself requires honesty and vulnerability. We all have unknown faults and are imperfect by nature. Don’t act by instinct, rather pray for the Lord to search your heart and to lead you by his Spirit.

1.
