Pray that men will fill their homes with God’s hope, joy and peace. (Rom. 10:13)

2. Husbands and fathers can feel overwhelmed by work, home and other responsibilities. Weariness can set in, and temptations can increase. Pray these men will cling to the hope that God is with them. (Deut. 31:6)

3. When struggles in a marriage persist, growing hopelessness can blind the couple to God’s faithfulness and ability to restore and rebuild the relationship. Pray that men will look to the Lord for their hope to improve such situations. (Ps. 39:7)

4. Fathers can have dreams and hopes that get buried by life’s responsibilities, but hope deferred can make the heart sick. Pray that fathers will turn to God to help them achieve their God-given dreams. (Prov. 13:12)

5. When marriages end, anger, bitterness and desperation can overshadow God’s hope and love for the spouses. Pray that divorced men will see the future through God’s eyes and allow God’s love, peace and hope to flow to and through them. (Prov. 23:18).

6. When God appeared to Moses in the wilderness, he declared: “ ‘I AM WHO I AM.’ And he said, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, “I AM has sent me to you” ’ ” (Exod. 3:14). When we pray, we speak to the true and living God. No challenge is too great for him.

7. In John 8:56-58, Christ affirmed: “ ‘Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.’ Then the Jews said to Him, ‘You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?’ Jesus said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.’ ” We also can rejoice because Jesus is the Messiah who has accomplished redemption for us.

8. We see many changes in the world’s politics, technology and culture. Our lives also have circumstances that are unpredictable. Yet we can pray with confidence in the unchanging character of our Lord. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Heb. 13:8).

9. One of our main prayer concerns is about God’s provision for us day by day. Champions for countless generations have trusted in God’s supply. King David proclaimed: “Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing” (Ps. 34:9,10).

10. As we approach God in prayer, very conscious of our needs, we can claim the promise of his provision. “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. … Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness” (2 Cor. 9:8, 10).

11. Oh Lord, I have been asking to know your will so I could do what you want. But now I realize that what you really want is for me to first give myself to you, so that you can do what you want through me. Therefore, I give myself to you. Now I trust you to perform your will through me. (2 Cor. 8:5)

12. Dear God, I am so glad that you have taken responsibility for my life. You have made me alive in Christ. Therefore, I yield myself and my members to you. I give you my spirit, soul and body so that Christ can accomplish his righteous purposes through me. (Rom. 6:13)

13. Lord Jesus, thank you for your great mercy in sacrificing your body upon the cross for me. Therefore, I gladly present my body to you as a living sacrifice. I understand that the only way I can truly serve you is by making myself available to you. I now trust you to live your life through me. (Rom. 12:1)

14. Heavenly Father, now that I am in union with Christ, you are at work in and through everything in my life. Therefore, whatever comes into my life is part of your will for my life. Your will is for me to give thanks in all things that concern me because you are in control of everything that happens to me. And since Christ lives in me, you will enable me to handle whatever comes my way. Thank you, Lord! (1 Thess. 5:18)

15. Heavenly Father, it is so easy to miss out on your amazing grace. I keep looking at the circumstances instead of at Jesus. Lord, cause me to rely upon you in a crisis instead of complaining about the problem. Protect me from becoming bitter through anger and forgiveness. Thank you for your all-sufficient grace! (Heb. 12:15)

16. Dear God, when I first became a Christian, it all seemed so easy. But now the whole Christian life seems so hard. I realize that means I have fallen from grace. I have put myself back under the law by trying to live the Christian life by my good works. Lord, cause me to live by faith in you, not by works of righteousness that I have managed to do. (Gal. 5:4-5)

17. Lord Jesus, thank you for bestowing your grace upon me through the enabling power of the Holy Spirit. For too long, my labors were in vain because of the dead works of my flesh. Thank you for making your grace available to me so that my labor can be effective. I now know that it is not I but Christ who does the work. Praise you, Lord! (1 Cor. 15:10)

18. Oh Lord, your way to greatness is so simple that even a little child can qualify. Grant me the humility to stop relying on my human abilities. Cause me to humble myself and come under your authority. Then I can exercise that simple childlike faith in Christ alone. (Matt. 18:4)

19. Honesty is a character trait under attack among many men. “Lord, convict us of our need to be honest in all matters of life. May we live the truth before the eyes of others and, more importantly, your eyes.” (2 Cor. 8:21)

20. Honesty is marked as being free from deceit, being sincere, like Philip, of whom Jesus said, “There is no guile.” “Lord, enable us to be free from guile, to be transparent and true.” (John 1:47; Eph. 4:25)

21. Honesty is important on many levels, from relationships with family to contacts in the workplace to interactions with our neighbors. Matthew 7:16 tells us that we are known by our fruit. “Lord, may the fruit of our lives be integrity, consistency and truthfulness in all our relationships.”

22. Lying is of the devil (John 8:44). “Lord, keep us from manifesting any likeness whatsoever to the enemy of our souls, the devil. Make us more like Christ, who is the way, the truth and the life.” (John 14:6)

23. Sometimes, we’re tempted to tell what some call “little white lies.” “Lord, may the Holy Spirit have such sway over our minds and our tongues that we detest any form of falsehood that would compromise truth in our lives.” (Prov. 12:17; Prov. 12:22)

24. Because of Christ, you can pray and live with hope! “For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ” (Rom. 5:17).

25. Praise the Lord that through TWR’s ministry Every Man A Warrior, many men in the Americas and Europe are learning the skills to put God first in their personal life and relationships. Pray especially for Lonnie Berger as he leads this dynamic discipleship effort globally. (1Cor. 16:9)

26. TWR’s ministry for men is built on prayer, programming (Champions Arise) and the formation of discipleship groups (Every Man A Warrior). Praise God that he is using it to equip men to be godly leaders at home and in society. Please pray for the expansion of this ministry and for the Lord to provide for all the needs to do this urgent and strategic work. (Luke 10:2)

27. Please pray for the leadership and expansion of TWR’s ministry for men. Lonnie Berger, the global director, has asked Edmund Spieker to continue assisting with Champions Arise and to oversee the development of Every Man A Warrior in Brazil for the next two years. Please pray for wisdom, stamina and the Lord’s enablement for these two men. (Eph. 6:19)

28. By rejecting the absolute truth of the Bible, our society has become the victim of aggressive and immoral ideologies that seduce our children and destroy the family. Pray for the Lord to raise up Christian men who are humble and wise, able to answer with conviction to those who are confused and searching for valid answers.
